4^th Edition - DEFTECH 2017 Seminar on Defence Technologies & Technology Expo

9^th October 2017, The Lalit Hotel, New Delhi

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), supported by the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), is organizing the DEFTECH 2017 - the 4th Edition of CII's Seminar on Defence Technologies & Technology Expo. The theme of DEFTECH 2017 is 'Realising Make in India through Defence R&D' and is scheduled on Monday, 9 October 2017 at The Lalit Hotel, New Delhi.

DEFTECH 2017 will provide a platform for Indian industry to showcase their capabilities and also for DRDO to spell out its requirements and list out the DRDO technologies available for commercialization. This exercise would aim to develop a long term sustainable relationship between industry and DRDO. During the Seminar, various nuances of defence technologies, development of integrated defence systems and futuristic and critical technologies will be deliberated upon.

The participants at this Seminar will include senior officials from the Indian Armed Forces, Ministry of Defence (MoD), Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) and representatives from academia, media and industry. There will be a parallel exhibition on the sidelines of the seminar to showcase industry's capabilities.

The objective of the Seminar is to :

Support in creating an ecosystem for R&D and technology development for defence and aerospace, understand the partnership / outsourcing model & procedural issues relating to procurement for greater industry participation in defence R&D, identify and mobilise industries interested in investing in defence R&D, facilitate commercialization of DRDO developed technologies; create awareness amongst industry on incentives for R&D including availability of funding through the Technology Development Fund, etc.
