The aerospace and defence sector has been designated as one of the 25 key sector under Make in India initiative of Government of India, which is aimed at increasing the contribution of manufacturing from the current 16.2% to 25% of GDP. Ministry of Defence has taken several policy and procedure reforms during the last two years to galvanise indigenous defence production in the sector.

To enable greater participation of Indian Industry in defence manufacturing and to familiarize on several aspects of the procurement process of Defence sector, the Confederation of Indian th Industry (CII) is organizing 20th Defence Acquisition Management Course (DAMC) on 8-9 August 2017, Gulmohar, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

This course is designed to meet the needs of the Industry to understand the changes in procurement and acquisition related processes and procedures of the Defence establishments. Over 700 participants have been benefitted from DAMC since 2003 and have been significantly impacted in their defence business.

  In addition to the understanding of the defence procurement structures, the course would also cover access to technologies developed by DRDO, Outsourcing/ Vendor Development Guidelines for DPSUs and OFB, access to Test facilities of DRDO / DPSUs / DGQA / Army and also discussion on how to respond RFIs, RFPs and submitting Bids and Outsourcing/ Vendor Development Guidelines for
DPSUs and OFB.

This course will provide the participants with an appreciation of the size and nature of opportunities for the private industry as well as underlying processes to plug into the defence sector.

The course will be conducted by Rear Admiral Pritam Lal (Retd), who is a domain expert. Invited faculty shall include senior officials from DDP (DOMW, DIP)/MoD, DGFT, DPSUs and OFB.
